Thanks to our Graphic Designers!

May 11, 2010

We need to thank Andy Westbrock and Karl Engebretson for their time and energy in creating attractive and professional graphics for us.  It is a flustering scenario to have a picture of something you'd like to create in your head but not be able to put onto the screen because you lack the necessary design skills.  These two creative minds helped us do just that.

The Superior Dream insignia that represents us on our website, blog, and now our business card is primarily the work of Andy with some finer adjustments done by Karl.

Over the past 6 months Andy has spent many hours in the glow of his laptop bringing to life our ideas of an SD logo, on the side of his career as an Art Director.  Phone conversations and emails piled high as he drafted and edited versions from his home in Seattle, his excitement in Superior Dream - the expedition - evident in both his work and voice.

Karl reached out to us as we were nearing the final stages of that design and assisted us in tying the bow on it.  He has continued on to masterfully design our business card and even as I type this is working on a few other graphic delights for the Superior Dream expedition.

Both have been invaluable to us, not only because of their ability to put lines on a blank document, but because of their feedback, ideas and overall aptitude for giving our dream an appealing visual.  Odds are, anyone seeing anything about Superior Dream from here on out will see their work first.

Kudos Gentlemen, and Thanks.

  1. I was just pointed towards your blog and web site. I am looking forward to following your progress. Make sure we all know what adventure film festivals you will be showing at. Perhaps see you in Telluride soon.

  2. Glad to have you with us Ed! When we get to the film showing point we'll be sure to keep everyone filled in. Telluride would be sweet! Right now, just getting our kayaks finished is a step in that direction. Long ways to go...
