Departure Day!

In a few short hours we'll meet at the UMD Aquatic Center out on Minnesota Point and take inventory of the weather.  If it's something we can manage in our new boats and looks as though it'll present us a long window to paddle the roughly 18 miles up to Stoney Point, our first camp, then we'll take off.  

If it doesn't look good, we'll do an interview with FOX 21 and then possibly push our official departure back a day.  We're in no hurry and have no need to hustle out of here.

Either way, the many months and lots of hard planning have led us to this point.  We both have wanted to skip the last few days and just be on the water.  It's been our least favorite phase bu now we're nearly there.  Whether it is tomorrow or we wait another day, we're ready and excited to start this trip.  It's game time.
